Inclusion of HST in Fees

All tuition, course and academic fees include 12 per cent HST (Harmonized Sales Tax). See the Schedules, Fees & Forms page for specific fee schedules. Any questions regarding the HST can be directed to accounting@cga-bc.org.

*Please note, that as of April 1, 2013, CGA-BC reverted back to the applicable GST/PST tax, in accordance with provincial law.

Methods of Payment
All fees must be paid in full at the time of transaction. Fees may be paid by VISA or MasterCard. If paying by cheque, bank or postal money order, please make payments to CGA-BC. Students will be charged an administration fee for cheques returned NSF (Non-Sufficient Funds) and declined credit card payments. CGA-BC is unable to accept post-dated cheques. CGA-BC reserves the right to change any fee without notice. Any payment made by cheque or postal money order must be attached to a copy of the request form.

Income Tax Receipts
Income tax receipts are available for download in February each year, under Student Tuition Fee Tax Receipt (T2202A) on the My CGA-BC page. The receipt is for qualifying fees applicable to the calendar year just ended, including appropriate taxes. Courses in Session 2 are pro-rated to the appropriate calendar year based on the number of assignments scheduled to be submitted in each calendar year. Generally, the receipt includes the applicable Basic Tuition Fee, course materials and examination fees relating to that calendar year. It does not include administrative fees such as withdrawal or course addition fees, the deferral fee or course materials purchased through the CGA-BC bookstore. In addition, you will find the number of months you were enrolled in courses for full-time credit. For further information about claiming these amounts, please refer to the policy established by the Canada Revenue Agency (www.cra.arc.gc.ca). Please contact our Accounting department at T2202@cga-bc.org if you require this service.

Overdue Accounts
Students with overdue accounts will not receive their examination results or other documentation until the amount owing is settled. Students with outstanding amounts at the end of the academic year will not be allowed to re-enrol in the following year until they pay their outstanding balance. A student with an overdue account will be considered a student not in good standing with CGA-BC. Students failing to settle accounts may also be subject to mandatory withdrawal.

Refunds of Fees Paid
Refunds are paid directly to the student in the same method as payment. Materials issued, administrative fees and tuition fees are non-refundable. Course and examination fees are refundable, less the materials and the withdrawal fee, if requested by the partial refund withdrawal deadlines listed online.

In cases where students prefer to leave their refund as a credit on their record, these credits will only be held for the duration of the academic year. Students must use their credits by the end of the following August enrolment period.
