Discipline Guidelines for Non-Compliance

Discipline Guidelines for Non-Compliance with CPD Requirements

There are several areas of possible non-compliance with the CPD Requirements including:

  • Not reporting by the January 31 deadline.
  • Not reporting sufficient CPD activities to meet the 120/60 hours requirement.
  • Not completing the four-hour verifiable ethics requirement in the current three-year period.

As with all ethics issues, members who persist in willful non-compliance with the CPD Requirements will go through a formal process involving a complaint, followed by an investigation and, if the member is found in breach, a resulting discipline.  The following discipline guidelines are approved by the Board of Governors and used by the Ethics Committee in determining discipline after a finding of non-compliance.

Not reporting by the January 31 deadline
First offence No report filed by deadline $200 fine and improve conduct (by filing reports on time)
Second offence No report filed by deadline $500 fine, reprimand and improve conduct (by filing reports on time)
Third offence No report filed by deadline Panel Hearing
