Maurice Jones, FCGA, Appointed Interim Executive Director of the Certified General Accountants Association of British Columbia
Vancouver, B.C. --- March 29, 2010 ---- The Board of Governors of the Certified General Accountants Association of British Columbia is pleased to announce that Maurice (Moe) Jones, FCGA, has been appointed interim Executive Director of the Association. He fills the position of R. W. (Bill) Caulfield, BA, FCIS, CGA (Hon.), who passed away on January 29, 2010. Mr. Jones served as the Association’s President in 2006 and has served in a number of other official capacities on behalf of the Association. Most recently he chaired the Association’s search for Canada’s top 100 CGAs as part of its centennial celebrations.
The Board has struck a search committee to recruit a permanent Executive Director. The committee will be chaired by CGA-BC President John Pankratz, FCGA. The Association has retained the executive search firm of Odgers Berndtson to undertake a search. Additional information about the position will be provided as it becomes available.
As the province’s largest professional accounting association, CGA-BC represents more than 14,000 CGAs and CGA students. Members work in industry, commerce, government and in public practice. The Association promotes the excellence of its members and advances the accounting profession through education, certification and the protection of the public interest.
