Parliamentary Secretary Invites B.C. CGAs to Discuss Issues of Mutual Interest
Red tape reduction, taxation and CRA to be high on agenda
CGA-BC and CGA-Canada are pleased to inform you that Cathy McLeod, Parliamentary Secretary for the Minister of National Revenue, has extended an invitation to B.C. CGAs to private meetings on Thursday, July 26, in Victoria, and Friday, July 27 in Vancouver, to discuss matters of interest to the profession. Specifically, Ms. McLeod would like to hear from CGAs on topics such as red tape reduction, taxation and issues relating to the Canada Revenue Agency.
Both meetings will run as morning round table sessions from 10 am to 12 noon. The Vancouver meeting will be moderated by Al Botteselle, CGA, of Galloway Botteselle & Company; the Victoria round table will be moderated by Charlotte Hoggard, CGA, of T. Charlotte Hoggard Inc.
This is a rare opportunity; the meetings will be for CGAs only and seating is limited.
Ms. McLeod has been the MP for Kamloops-Thompson-Cariboo since 2008. She currently sits on the Standing Committee on Finance and is a former member of the Red Tape Reduction Commission. Prior to entering federal politics, Ms. McLeod was mayor of Pemberton and a director for the Squamish-Lillooet Regional District. She also worked as a registered nurse and managed several health care centres.
