CGA-BC Announces the Passing of Executive Director R. W. (Bill) Caulfield, BA, FCIS, CGA (Hon.) 1949-2010
Vancouver, B.C. --- January 30, 2010 ---The Board of Governors of CGA-BC regrets to inform you of the passing of R. W. (Bill) Caulfield, BA, FCIS, CGA (Hon.), long time Executive Director of CGA-BC. He had been battling lymphatic cancer for the past two years and died peacefully last night at Lions Gate Hospital at 9:30 pm surrounded by his family.
Bill led CGA-BC for more than 30 years and has had a tremendous impact on the growth, development and recognition of the Association and the CGA designation not only in B.C., but in the rest of the country and into Asia. He will be remembered both as a visionary and as a relentless promoter of the CGA designation. He touched many people from the students that he encouraged and the members he supported, to the staff that he inspired and to his many friends and colleagues in Canada and overseas.
We will remember him as a colleague, a leader, and as a friend. He truly will be missed. Our thoughts, prayers, and condolences go out to his family.
A celebration of life for Bill will be held in March. Return to this page for details as they become known. The Association has also established a special online tribute page. Please watch the CGA-BC website for details and additional information.
