Symposium Presents Best Practices
of Practice Management

CGA-BC’s inaugural Practitioners Symposium was a tremendous success by all counts. The day featured great speakers, practical tools and tips, and lots of networking amongst practitioners. Almost 90 practitioners attended, some coming from as far away as Manitoba.
Our two keynote speakers, Dave Cottle and Ron Baker, did not disappoint. Dave Cottle, CPA and author, showed us how to determine what a firm’s profits really are—and then how to increase them. What firm wouldn’t want to do that! Ron Baker, founder of the Verasage Institute, promoted the use of value pricing as a better substitute for timesheets.
Breakout sessions gave practical ways to market firms, deal with firm staff and use systems and smart checklists to streamline practice management. To end off the event, the Best Practices Panel members shared their many years of experience to answer questions about the daily management of our CGA firms. Now it’s time to apply what was learned!
