Competency Assessment Tool (C.A.T.)

The C.A.T. is provided to help accountants move their careers forward. This framework allows you to see what competencies or skills are needed, and in what combinations, for various positions. Custom-design your professional development plan, and make the most of the career opportunities you encounter. The competency framework has four main categories. At the core of the framework is the technical knowledge category that forms the foundation of a CGA's professional skills. This core category is supplemented by three additional "soft-skill" categories: leadership, professionalism and general management.

The C.A.T. provides a framework for members to evaluate their competencies and make informed choices about PD opportunities to upgrade their knowledge and skills. This online application evaluates current skill profiles in various competency areas and compares them to a relevant target profile. With this comparison, the C.A.T. automatically points the CGA to appropriate professional development resources on the PD Network.

For more information on the C.A.T., visit PD Net under the Competency tab. If you have never visited this Website before, use the Register Inscription tab to access information or login with your personalized user name and password.
